Hello from Rwanda!

Where has the time gone? It is March! Month 8 of the race and I am in Rwanda. I constantly remind myself where I am and what the date is because it sometimes feels like I am living in a really long dream! But, don’t worry, my eyes are wide open. I have seen so many things, met so many amazing people, and felt the presence of the Lord in such a strong way. The spiritual warfare is strong and your prayers are felt in mighty way. When all of life’s comforts are stripped away and when the distractions are silenced it’s is amazing how the spirit of the Lord really moves. I am constantly reminded of how my relationship with the Lord never reaches a final destination this side of eternity, but there is always the opportunity to grow in new and deeper ways.

One of the coolest and most encouraging things I have seen is the evidence of the presence of the Lord all over this amazing world. I have stayed in countless rooms, beds, in my tent, on the floor, and every morning I wake up with my earphone cord wrapped around my neck, yet I always feel at home. The host organizations and families we have stayed with have become my home away from home.

Since my last blog post I have been in Ecuador, South Africa, Lesotho, ESwatini, and now Rwanda.

Story through photo is my favorite:

Went to the equator in Quito, Ecuador.

In Ecuador we worked with an organization who provides resources/schooling for children and adults who are mentally and physically disabled.

Everyday at lunch we got to try fun new foods that are local to Ecuador.

Team Bloom. Sav, Dana, Morgan C, Caroline, Steph and me with our amazing squad leaders Kayla and Lubbock in the middle. we walked into this journey strangers and now we are lifelong friends. these gals have encouraged me in the faith, helped me when I was sick, and we have so many memories together. I am forever thankful for this team. ( team updates in next photo)

Kayla and Lubbock: these gals have been our squad leaders for the past 5 months! They led with humility and grace. Servant leadership was their vibe. I miss them so much already. Now, Jackie and I have the amazing opportunity to lead the squad for the remainder of the trip! We are excited to see how God continues to use us!

In South Africa we stayed at Global Leadership Academy. This school is doing amazing things! We got to paint some desks/ pray over them before the school year starts!

“Surfing” in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa

Steph and I swim in an open water swim at the marina!

Lesotho: preaching, teaching, and moving rocks to build the foundation of a new church!
